Brandon Avalos:

Chris Browder:
  • Recorded 44 sacks and 145 total tackles during his career at Wilcox-Central High
  • Earned a spot on most every top newspaper recruiting list in the state of Alabama
  • Rated the 11th best linebacker in the Southeast by SuperPrep
Ahmad Childress:
  • Recruited two years ago by Alabama; enrolled at Garden City CC because of academics
  • Recorded 56 tackles, seven sacks, and 10 hurries at GCCC
  • Passed up an offer from South Carolina to sign with the Tide
  • Still has 3 years of eligibility left
Jeremy Clark:
  • One of the top two or three defensive lineman in the state of Alabama
  • Played at Daphne High with former Tide players Kenny King and Atlas Herrion
  • Earned all-state honors by making 80 tackles and nine sacks
Kenneth Darby:
  • Considered the state's top running back with 4,674 yards over his four year career
  • Produced 2,367 all purpose yards and 24 total touchdowns
  • Played at linebacker with 281 tackles during his career
  • Rated the number 36 running back in the nation by SuperPrep
Grant Dickey:
  • The only offensive lineman signed in the class
  • Earned all-state honors at Lee High in Texas
  • Analysts like his footwork, intelligence, and aggressive style of play in the running game
  • Can play anywhere on the offensive line
Zach Fletcher:
  • Known as a big, strong, physical reciever
  • Caught 78 passes for 23 touchdowns for the CC of San Fransisco
  • Played high school ball at Lawrence County high; grew up as an Alabama fan
Juwan Garth:
  • Had 83 tackles, three sacks, nine tackles for loss, and 3 interceptions for Austin High
  • Caught 42 passes for 778 yards and eight touchdowns as a reciever
  • Will provide speed and quickness at either outside linebacker or rover
Chris Harris:
  • Recorded 82 tackles and 17 sacks as a junior before moving to strongside linebacker
  • Recorded 72 tackles and eight sacks at the strongside
  • Earned all-state and all-west Alabama honors
Nic Luke:
  • Brother of current Tide reciever Triandos Luke
  • Rushed 81 times for 610 yards and 11 touchdowns as a junior
  • Rushed 111 times for 690 yards and 12 touchdowns as a senior
Greg Mclain:
  • Started four years at Lineville, playing 55 games
  • Rushed for 876 yards and 16 touchdowns
  • Caught 12 passes for 314 yards and 2 touchdowns
  • Recorded 82 tackles, 4 sacks, 3 caused fumbles and one fumble recovery on defense
Chauncey Malone:
  • Has a 36-inch vertical jump, bench presses 245 lbs, squats 400 lbs
  • Rushed for 1,431 yards and 24 touchdowns as a senior running back
  • Can play either side of the ball, but most likely will be a cornerback
Earnest Nance:
  • Recorded 110 tackles and rushed for 1,101 yards as a junior
  • Had 827 yards rushing, nine touchdowns, and 84 tackles before a season ending knee injury
  • Will join the Alabama program in January 2003
Derrick Pope:
  • Nephew of recievers coach Kennith Pope
  • Originally signed with coach Franchione at TCU, but failed to qualify
  • Recorded 120 tackles and earned second team Junior College All-America honors
Ramzee Robinson:
  • Completed 72 of 114 passes for seven touchdowns as a senior
  • Rushed for 446 yards on 85 carries and had six touchdowns
  • Recorded 32 tackles and two interceptions at cornerback
Titus Ryan:
  • Rushed for 1,251 yards and 17 touchdowns over the fall
  • Over two seasons he has rushed for more than 2,700 yards and 33 touchdowns
  • Won three events at the Class 6A indoor track championships: high jump, long jump, 55 meter dash
DeMeco Ryans:
  • Added 2 inches and 20 pounds of muscle during his senior season
  • Recorded 135 tackles and 11 sacks as a senior middle linebacker
  • Earned first-team all-state honors and PrepStar's No. 5 ranking of southeast linebackers
David Scott:
  • Recorded 44 tackles and seven interceptions last fall
  • Six tackles and an interception in the championship game helped Jones CC win the title
  • Originally signe to play for Coach torbush at North Carolina
Henry Smith:
  • Considered one of the states best defensive tackle prospects by many analysts
  • Earned state's 3A Lineman Of The Year Award with 190 tackles, 10 sacks, 14 tackles for loss
  • Recorded 440 tackles and 24 sacks during his career
Kyle Tatum:
  • Considered one of the top three prospects in the state among all players
  • Recorded 95 tackles, 25 for loss, 14 sacks and three fumble recoveries as a senior
  • Spent last season as a defensive end but may wind up at the tackle position
